Thread regarding VMware layoffs

Should the US government regulate this behavior?

Should a company like Broadcom who pays approx 21% corporate tax rate (while you pay more like 35-45%) be allowed to continue buying companies and laying off thousands of employees?

It is also my understanding that a lot of these companies hide from paying taxes by keeping their cash overseas.

Does anybody think this kind of predatory corporate raiding that results in many thousands of workers Losing their jobs should be regulated or at least limited in some ways ?

why is it, when ANYTING happens, that some snowflake doesn't like, they demand the government step in and "regulate" sh-t.

lets see here. Gov says "no, you cant buy a company you think is run inefficiently and revamp it, fire the lest productive or redundant and get it back to being really profitable..." so businesses like that would eventually die (as investors go elsewhere for returns) or hire new mgmt that would be ruthless and cut and get back to profitability.

Its like little children that cry to mommy and daddy about how jonnie got icecream and you didn't... ITS SO UNFAIR.

This is the real world. VMW needs to be cleaned up. We're treading water. Our leadership is weak. There is a bunch of nepotism and favoritism in our leadership ranks. We are bloated with admin staff and costs that are ki----g us.

Guess what, the current leadership team that is all fluffy and acts worried about your feelings and pronouns, can't run the business. sorry.

Did VMWare pay more taxes then they needed to? Nope!

As others said, this is how capitalism works.

Denial is a dr-g. Accept reality and start planning for your future. The government is not going to stop this acquisition.
