I still don't know of a case that someone has regretted leaving Broadcom. Perhaps there is someone?

sure. many have posted over the past 4 years about this. nothing new. only the olde are stuck at BRCM...
BRCM's management manage staffs in a very unprofessional methods. Some worst customer support department mointor the checkins. People make fake corrections, adding comments, uncomment the critical error messages, no willing to dig into details , make fake fix not even touch any input parameter inside the pogram context, and do not discuss with the department responisble to avoid the exposeure of knowledgeless. The real engineer instead in jeopadize to compare the performance with peers. The merit to fix difficult job is washed off. Managers take the credits only share with people who politically aligned with them. The anual evaluation is totally rediculous to protect a gang of people with same common interest. The culture of the department is corrupted.
I don't know if anyone regret to leave (or would admit it), what I know is that we have many (tens) who returned (and some still queuing). And more amazing, they returned to do the exact same thing they were doing before!
Some people work for pleasure, but most work to make money. If someone likes to get financially rewarded by the level of dedication they put on their job, Broadcom is a good choice. No one will buy you chocolates and there's no team dedicated to send kudos emails, but you will be able to buy has many boxes of chocolates you will want...
Left Broadcom last year and now make more with better RSUs.
Don’t think you have to stay at Broadcom to make good money. Do they pay well, sure, but there are other companies who pay just as well or better.
Those who remain after acquisition will make much more money than before. The dictatorship culture is awful and trash but it pays great.
I left brcm to avgo in 2019. overall I made 3 times money compared staying in brcm. I am much happier than brcm 100 times.
Who cares? You are still there because you are either old, desperate and can't find another job, or stupid.
The grass is always greener.... And at BCom it's true - why because there is no career development, so no personal growth; no genuine innovation, so no excitement about the products. There is only remuneration and status, it's OK for managers with a large RSU package, but even for most of those their simply glorified resource allocators.
Apart from salary and RSUs BCom is the worst company you can work for.
No one ever admits leaving was a mistake so this is meaningless. If you don't like the TC, wlb, colleagues, job, job security, then leave. But there are plenty of sh---y companies out there that you won't find out about until you join.
So accurate. There is no one that I know of that has left Broadcom that regrets the decision. Come to think of it, I can’t really think of anyone that worked for Broadcom that left and came back. At CA we had hundreds of people quit and come back each year. Mostly because they had it pretty easy and were paid decently. No way to really say this positively, but Broadcom is NOT and will never be an employer of choice. Even at CA, we had people that were super defensive of the company. At Broadcom, that doesn’t exist. People like the pay and that is it. (Clearly an important thing to be happy about though). Just sell your soul to the devil, make the money and then leave if you are unfortunate enough to be offered a job.
Also, Broadcom wants as many VMWare people to quit between now and close. Less severance to pay. I’ve read in a few posts that people think things will be different with this deal. They won’t be. Hock doesn’t change. His plan works. He makes money and so do who is shareholders. Don’t be mad at Hock. Be mad at your board and executives.
