Thread regarding VMware layoffs

Toxic next few months

I absolutely agree with someone who mentioned that the environment will become more toxic in the coming months because of those who will try to keep their job in every way, I hope I'm wrong though... The atmosphere already feels different.

Sadly, I'm already seeing weird and shameless behavior from some folks, specifically VP pets in overcrowded teams.

Look - everyone sells out everyone to save their own back side. But I promise you, Hock doesn’t fall for this BS. All the people at CA that were a$$ kissing him got cut quickly. He is not political and doesn’t like when people play games. I respect that about him.

No matter what you do, or how great you or are not, you will be a cell in a spreadsheet and which person is retained versus cut, usually comes down to location and $$$. I seem to recall we had like 150 IT people, and I think they kept less than 5 of them full time. G&A that will survive from VMWare will probably be around 10 - 15 people in total. Not even a lie. And guess what, you won’t even notice they are gone.
