Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

The parade of unflushables taking their #cubepic

“Today was my last working day before retiring after almost..” 40+ years of service, 30+ years, whatever time they devoted to climb plus the decade of retired in place.
They are finally out.

And they take the picture to show us they went unscathed, without accountability for their blunders, without remorse for their mistakes that costed so much money and grief.

So long, unflushables. Your departure was long overdue. Hope you choke on those RSUs.

OP, do you really work at EM? If so, how on earth are you not aware that many, if not most of the people whose retirement causes you such pathological envy are actually regular workers, not management? I just retired on June 1st - comfortably, but I never received any RSUs throughout my career.
With your attitude you would never make it to retirement, even if somehow the crooks running the company would honor again their retirement promises.

Full retirement eligible folks who plan to take the lump sum are bleeding money every day as interest rates rise.

I think the way some feel is that people who stay with the company as an employee after they are fully retirement eligible with no penalty and reached medicare age they should retire because they are earning top pay and many with much lower contributions to the company than their younger, hungrier peers. They are driven by greed and take up headcount which provides less opportunities for the younger workforce, many who probably could contribute more at a much lower overhead. There was mention of it in a forum a couple of years ago in which an executive acknowledged it was a problem that people weren't retiring when they should be. Someone made mention of the term "the hangovers". They have plenty of millions in their pension already. The company could hire 2 or 3 new hires cheaper than continuing to pay for the hangovers lake houses, boats and every other materialistic possession they have. Other countries have forced retirement at 59 or so. Just saying.

You sound angry and bitter. Go find something that makes you happy. You can leave and go work somewhere else you know.

Must be nice to be perfect and never make a mistake. Maybe when you retire people will have the same feelings about you.

So you like the “false” cube pics better? “No leaving here, just excited for another day at the glass asylum where boot lickers shine, and backstabbing is a skill set”. “Onward with the most exciting option in my life”?

OP I’m sure that your contributions are SO much more impressive than the folks leaving! Your bitterness and lack of maturity are on full display…

I didn't know DA was going until I saw it today, did she accomplish anything? She always came over very weak in forums unfortunately.
