A merger of equals means that employees at both companies will be equally fu---d. I'm going to assume that some areas will be more affected than others at each company, but overall, there'll be layoffs all around. I don't think anybody can consider himself or herself safe until this is over.

Well 3 more days until DDAy then the chopping block goes out. Who is the favorites they keep, brown nosing should have kept you in the picture.
Obviously Denver office has very high overhead just based on rent in Denver, not to mention how much Hero Brad spent moving the office. All the hired managers still there. Field will take a hit guaranteed. Reap the benefits while you got it.
All the new executives are from oasis. They are shutting down the Denver office. It’s pretty obvious at this point they are taking the cuts out of Whitings Denver employees. The field staff and Houston will be mostly safe. They aren’t even talking to whiting people about moving. It’s like they already have their minds made up . “Merger of equals” is a punchline at this point.
Has anyone that isn’t management been safe working here? Not a chance this place has sacrificed some very good employees and kept some losers. Best thing around here is don’t say anything and keep kissing a-s.
Absolutely acutely said. Way to much overhead and I see a lot of cuts coming. Another factor to consider is contract employees. Saving money is huge even though oil is good. We are all just a number, the longest employee are a bigger savings to cut loose. Considering vacations and such. The chopping block is waiting for us.
