What about the ones who go through the layoffs processes that are yet to come untouched.
Are there any indications what the company life and culture is going to look like after the acquisition is completed?

Honestly I'm very happy when I look at my bank account and we are often paid more than expected. This usually happens every 3 months after stock vests and they automatically sell half to pay taxes and then refund you the rest. Also at end of December for annual bonus payouts.
If I'm having a rough day, I just login to my Fidelity Netbenefits account and see the value of my stock RSU's that have vested keep going up and the cash dividends that are piling up.
Do Broadcom offices have clean and functioning bathrooms, and more importantly, do they stock them with cheap paper-thin toilet paper?
@bikeyboy sold. Idgaf about becoming family with people. I am there to get paid and leave.
First off, the culture at Broadcom is a culture of fear. Fear of when you will be laid off, fear of when the next shoe will drop. The employees have no time to gossip or be political, so while that may seem bad, you don’t have to deal with drama. I worked in a G&A function there a few years back, I sat next to a woman for 8 years, I never knew she was married or had 2 children. We never had time to chat or talk. That is what I hated about working there, no personal connection at all. If this is important to you, run don’t walk. If you are OK with working as a “number” and just doing your job, you won’t be miserable. They pay well and you work hard, but it is not like working in a prison. The CEO is very hands on and involved in almost everything. Back when I worked there, he approved everyone personally to work from home, not sure if that has changed as they’ve grown, something tells me it hasn’t.
There's many companies like this that it's all about the pay and no benefits. We've been spoiled at VMW that they've tried to be like Google in this regard.
The one good thing is that Broadcom pays really well...equal or better than Apple levels. People that have survived the mergers end up happier believe it or not.
Based on what I read they give a decent amount of RSU's, pay, and standard benefits. I don't need anything else IMO.
Broadcom employee responding here....
Dude it's really about your career and life plans. I was formerly a CA employee, but for a brief period of time before we got acquired. There's no culture here other than do what your told. The work here is mechanical, focused..one needs a stoic attitude to survive. Pay and benefits are good.. is comp the best? Probably would do better at a FAANG.
If you care about doing your job, keeping head down, working on keeping a ship afloat...always wondering when you might be walked down the plank...This might be the place.
If you're under 40, would look elsewhere. If you're 60+, then you stay for 3-5 years...max out ur RSU's and bonus, then call it a day.
