I used to be proud to be a small part of this company, but today I am ashamed to still be here.
Have you noticed how people outside have a worsening opinion of NM? It's sad.

I've got the same opinion of the place. Been at NM a long time. I believe in what the company does for its policy owners and clients. I used to believe in the leadership and broadly about the company. Now I focus on my immediate team, my immediate peers and my immediate leader. The rest I care far less than I ever did. It's comical, and sad, to watch the leader of the largest part of the org who is not self aware of his lack of vulnerability (at least publicly) attempt to create any semblance of engagement among his directs and his function that even closely resembles the person who mysteriously left by being fired or on his own accord. More comical to watch the icy icy cold energy of all his directs in functional meetings - more uneasy than an arranged marriage. But, I will push on, grind a couple more years out until I retire, help grow and care for my immediate team, and pull out the popcorn to watch senior leaders like CM try to create engagement where there is none. Advice, leave if it's taking the mental toll, or do as I did and focus on what you can around you that makes you feel like you're making a difference and disengage from all other aspects of that organization. You'll be glad you did.
Probably should leave then. If you’re ashamed to work here, that is probably taking a mental toll on you. Not worth it.
