Admittedly, I can only speak on my own behalf, but once the news of the acquisition was confirmed, I have no motivation anymore to do even the bare minimum. Yesterday I barely finished the work I had to do. I don’t believe there are many people whose productivity hasn’t dropped since it was announced?

I struggle to see how anyone, including sanctimonious-types, can or will remain motivated as the process plays out. I expect most people to be launching searches, and being primarily focused on that, while taking it “easy” over the summer months, and doing the absolute bare minimum in their current roles. Some/many may try to time it so that they can start a new job while also receiving a severance package, but given that the deal closure timeframe could be 5-8 months out, that could be a risky proposition, given increasing competition in the job market (for the types of jobs we all want) and a potential looming recession, which might further limit opportunities. Regardless, the life, energy and passion has been sucked out of this company over the past two weeks.
Smart customers will rush to extend their contracts as long as they can because everyone knows that Broadcom raises prices extremely high.
Before the closure from CA our sales guys who were being axed received the largest commission checks ever as customers were begging to resign and extend at current prices.
CA software is extremely sticky and won't last long without patches from support.
Why would anyone actually show up and work hard? You know that most of you will be laid off. Why would any customer consider buying your products? They know that they will be taken to the cleaners by Hock and his crew...
Honestly, work tasks now feel like re-arranging deck chairs on the Titanic.
@SelgRespectingHuman shiit talker eh?
When CA was acquired, almost the entire executive management team left on announcement day despite the fact that the company had to operate for another 4 months before the deal closed. They were all figuring out how to spend their money. Most employees were sitting back and waiting to see what would happen since many people had long tenures and would get decent severance packages. Use the time to focus on your skills and personal development.
@SelfRespectingHuman ok Hock Tan, calm down
Interesting. Did your pay & benefits also drop the moment the acquisition was announced? Your entitlement is embarrassing. Please leave now.
