New Grads Options?

Joined as a new grad in February 2022 and now this… given that I have no experience it will be hard to look for another role without hitting the 1 year mark. If I apply now I will only have 4 months of experience which will look bad as we are leaving so soon… what should the new grads do?

do you suggest that we apply now or wait until we accumulate more experience first?

Even if it is less than a year. this acquisition is news. If you show a recent vmware hire, then out because of the acquisition, no biggie. you are just starting in the business. Anyone interviewing you will know how the acquisition game works.

Im set to join in July as Propel new grad, we got a mail from our recruiter today that everything will go as it is going until atleast 2023 as that is when the acquisition will fully close. I guess till then you should have 1yr full experience, meanwhile you could start leetcoding and brushing up on interviewing skills and looking for referrals in companies that are still hiring. Also I think the other companies would be aware of the acquisition and why people are leaving vmware so don't think it will look bad on you.
