I've heard Broadcom is likely to do away with WFH, is this true? If this happens, I'll be leaving on my own. WFH is too important to me for various reasons and there is no way I can give it up. Which sucks, considering that by all other accounts I'd most likely be safe.

A lot of people WFH at Broadcom because there is no office near where the live and they are still considered an important resource.
For example smaller satellite offices that came over from CA Technologies were closed and employees in those areas WFH.
Broadcom PREFERS people in offices and when they hire new people they PREFER to hire in-offices when possible.
If you are kept on and you live near a Broadcom office then it's likely that you will be expected in the office. If you already WFH with VMware because there is no VMware or Broadcom office within 50 miles of your house AND they decide to keep you then there's a good chance you can continue working from home.
This is the first Broadcom acquisition where the subject of WFH will be a top concern as opposed to CA and Symantec which happened before the covid / remote work bo-m started. It wouldn't surprise me if a lot of VMware employees just see this acquisition as an opportunity to take their severance and find a WFH job especially since gas prices are $5 a gallon and many companies will use a WFH offer to snag some good talent.
As the earlier post stated, WFH is not something Broadcom leads with although they do have some employees that work from home (usually in very remote locations where they have no office and the role they perform is critical. Broadcom was deemed an essential employer during the worst of COVID and people had to show up in an office on a rotating scale. Badge reports are reviewed by management to see which people are showing up and which people aren’t. As suggested in the earlier post, if WFH is important to you, this is not the place for you. If making money appeals to you, Broadcom is a great employer.
Broadcom (im a current employee) does not have a WFH policy unless you're customer facing, or for very limited exceptions....
if wfh is important, you'll need to start looking...
