Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

For those that are still there…

Is anyone really working? Is anyone really motivated to do any work?

With the groups being decimated (CVAD, sales, Citrix Cloud), how does anyone even get motivated to do a damn thing? What tricks are being used to get yourself up in the morning to do any work when no one wants to be there?

Here's the answer to your question. Do the things that benefit you personally, as you plan for your next gig and your future job roles. Learn a new skill, read a book, and invest in yourself now while you have the time. Get motivated doing that and you'll be fine.

Talking about engineering.

Most people that want to do meaningful work get frustrated and jump the ship or wallow in despair as they wait for severance packages. It is simply impossible to do good work here. You get blocked by entrenched and incompetent people and stupid processes. The place is rife with politics. It was hard to start with but last year really f..cked up any chance. All that you see nowadays is incompetent drones and brownnoses doing rote work and busywork, gas lighting ignorant or indifferent managers and conspiring. Anyone worth his engineering salt is shut up.

This is a sick and miserable place to be and it burns good people out.
Do yourself a favour and walk out while you still can.
At least that's what I'll do.

Don’t worry, most functions will be outsourced to low wage locations.

There is life after Citrix , if people are unhappy they should plan on leaving, better than to complain constantly , plenty of jobs around most places

It sucks. No motivation. PI planning is a joke, sprint planning is a joke, getting teams to transition to a more SAFe methodology with a team of tpms leading this cause, is a joke. No one wants to do anything.

Agreed. Everyone is numb and waiting to see what happens after acquisition. Most are looking for new jobs, at least in engineering. Some are hoping for a severance package. No one is working half as hard as they were even a month or so ago.

Super motivated. Motivated to get a new job elsewhere. No one is working anyways. Just going thru the motion
