Thread regarding VMware layoffs

Customer backlash

Has anyone started to see customer backlash on the forthcoming acquisition?
I have already had some major customers in Enterprise say they intend to move away from VMware fully citing the precedents set by Broadcom

If this spreads, which I am sure it will, how can we address customer concerns and sentiment?
I am more concerned with current deals in flight for H1 and H2 as this affects me now and short term

I know of one at least one potential customer terminating a POC engagement upon the release, and 3 of mine who were previously undecided/unsure about renewal (CB) will now be moving elsewhere . Anticipate this trend to continue within the security space, as many customers were previous affected by the BC takeover of Symantec and dealt with being outside of the 'core' customer group and know what is to come. Switching security stacks isn't a walk in the park, but its easier to do than core infrastructure.

Any customer not immediately looking to divest from any VMW products / services is not paying attention. Broadcm will cut R&D and raise prices. Why would you want to stick around for that?

Customers say a lot of things but depending on how deeply they're into it, some of them wouldn't be able to shift in under 3 years. Many will leave, of course, unless incentivized not to do that.

The trick is to bring forward the sales while you are still around. Once Day 1, many would be gone. Speaking from experience in previous acquisition.
