Many comments and questions in this site make me feel that many VMware folks are getting a little stuck, shocked, or in negation. That's understandable. However, let me tell everyone that there is still a great job market for tech.
A couple of months back, Amazon announced increase of salaries and benefits. Last week, Microsoft followed suit.

With all good and bad things that people can say, VMware is still a big tech player and has always been a silicon valley caliber organization. Other good companies want you! Engineers, Finance, HR, IT, etc. Do not underestimate your chances, talent and pedigree.
Even before this news, our attrition rate was not pretty. VMware people have always been targeted by recruiters due to our good reputation.
