Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Day of Understanding!!! Really!!!

The company just put together a video talking about the day of understanding for minority and LGBT+XYZ WTF that means. We are tired of being preached to. No one cares about your race or your gender . Come in do your job I get along with everyone I've worked in a store with a high minority staff. They all did their job we all got along. Get over this we have to teach people to get along cr-p. I've worked with g-y straight trans people they're race and serial orientation is not their whole life. STOP WITH THE LECTURES. Stop spending money on this cr-p. This company needs to worry about why th ey have so much turnover and the fact that associates feel disappointed and disrespected. Now that should be your Day of Understanding. Understand us because you don't AT ALL!!!

Totally agree that this is a waste of company assets. It is also ridiculous that Macy’s has Customer Bill of Rights signs posted all over the stores. It is embarrassing. Hey Jeff this is America and we have a Civil Rights Act that passed in 1964. You must missed that in school. In my twenty years at Macy’s I have not seen anyone disrespected because of race, se-ual orientation or religion.
Here is an idea take some of this wasted money and clean your filthy dirty stores. Or pay your tenured employees fairly. The fact that you are paying many long term employees the same as new hires demonstrates just how unethical Macy’s really is. This is why you can’t hire or retain people and that long term employees are leaving in droves.

It is complete cr-p that corporate should constantly spew their views on the people who work for them, this is America everyone should be entitled to hold their own beliefs without be constantly harassed by Jeff, we thought we had it bad under Terry, but Jeff will run this company into the ground. He needs to be more worried about how to run a store than being woke.

Agree!!! Day of understanding should be a sincere effort of senior management to understand what it’s like to work in so many poorly run stores, understanding why they cannot attract or retain good help so they can make it a better place to work and shop. Instead they jump on the politically correct band wagon. As a g-y person who has worked at Macys for years, I never felt disrespected or the need to make people understand a part of me. I did feel the need to make management understand the daily disfunction of my store which they don’t see or chose to ignore.

Why would your shift be cut in 2 months? I know about the isp in June but I haven’t heard shifts would be shorter?

day of understanding part 2..JG you work in the store running up and down steps in a stock room with zero help from anyone. after you are wiped out exhausted you then have to do your manager job and inventory. after that you can go to lunch and can barely eat because of all the stress you just went thru on your 5 hr shift thats being cut in 2 months. the day of understanding is this company is poorly ran by a person who is out of touch with whats going on in their own store and how employees are treated.. lets have that day of understanding that you can go get a better job/life just dont come back from lunch break
