Thread regarding Ricoh layoffs

Ricoh buying Fujitsu scanners… one person’s trash is something ricoh could sell.

Fujitsu shedding this piece of business to focus on growth and looking ahead into the a sustainable future… ricoh? Not so much.
Ricoh basically a bottom feeder shopping for hardware tech at other companies’ garage sales.
And it’s SCANNERS… ricoh can’t make scanners? I know there’s some software too but come on! Ricoh not being able to do this internally is pathetic! All that pain and extra work employees endured covering for friends who got let go during the pandemic. This move is a real slap in the face to employees.

@1ujv+1guvIYxb,
When was the last time ricoh developed anything in house that was n’t in an almost dead product life cycle: copier/printer/camera? —— Software? No. Direct to Garment? No. Scanners? No. Ricoh SHOULD have the parts to make this in house. A scanner is basically just a document feeder off an mfp… realize it has to be beefed up a bit but an engineering no can do at ricoh …speaks to the build quality of Ricoh technology these days but a unique up sell opportunity. Scanning an important document? You better do it on this Fujitsu scanner… the Ricoh may jam or double feed.

I don't see why you are upset. Fujitsu makes very good high speed, high volume scanners. Right now they are selling copiers for that purpose. Title companies run these machine for almost free as they pay cost per copy. This sounds like a good thing for a tech.
