The competition is huge. How much is Citrix worth on resume when looking for a new job? From my experience, almost nothing.

Probably best to avoid companies with mo--nic hiring managers then.
Yeah you can tell that's true but all the people leaving Citrix that have been there 10+ years and getting jobs with Microsoft, Amazon, Google, etc.
Citrix lifers, you're missing the point. Hiring managers do care about your poor judgment and apparent fear of leaving a company with a pitiful performance record. The ongoing ELT failure is also your personal failure to say enough is enough -- you can't escape it!
You’re judged on your qualifications, not David Henshall’s inability to understand how to veer away from icebergs. No one should listen to this garbage. Either you’re qualified, based on your skill and ability to articulate it, or you’re not. It’s that simple. If anything, Citrix is an easy talking point about how your Enterprise B2B experience relates to an open opportunity. It about you — not Citrix.
I've never seen any hiring manager say that they won't consider a candidate because they've been at an existing tech company for 10 years. Plenty will ask why only a year or a few years. Some might be cautious hiring someone who has been one company for decades since they might really be set in their ways, or only leaving because they have to. But for 10 years, that's a good solid run on anyone's resume.
I received several job offers in just a few weeks because I was a current Citrix employee. It's not a detriment for most people.
Lol maybe the problem is you!
Everything is relative in life, including a job search for a better role.
If you've worked at Citrix for less than 5 years and can clearly demonstrate your marketable skills and substantive accomplishments, then it's worth mentioning.
However, if you've worked at Citrix for more than 10 years, and have difficulty explaining why you chose to stay at a company that has a long history of strategic missteps, then it will be difficult to compete with qualified candidates for your next gig.
Try to put a positive spin on your time at Citrix. Good luck with your job search!
