Quit this miserable company. Hot, understaffed cesspools of stress and misery. Get out!
Specialist already sell outside of their departments at my store.
Corporate is aware of google and YouTube these days. Therefore "project and product knowledge" won't be necessary. Just stock at night and point to the aisle through the day. Have a Blowes safe day!
Yet more movement toward the stores simply becoming order fulfillment centers staffed with fewer and fewer employees. “Knowledgeable” employees will soon be a thing of the past. All you will eventually have in the stores are clerks and shelf-stockers.
" A lot of specialists might quit because they'll need to have a broader product knowledge now. "
EXACTLY. Are we getting it yet?
Now comes the summer of pain.
Show me the money!!!
if we are to be highly qualified in multiple departments what will be the pay increase?? Obviously some one well versed in all specialties is worth a ton more than somebody in one specialty. Please do not laugh....this obviously is a sarcastic rhetorical post
It will happen. This has been talked about for a few years now and has picked up traction thanks to staffing issues. A lot of specialists might quit because they'll need to have a broader product knowledge now. That and there will be fewer of them on the floor since the millwork specialist will be able to walk to plumbing and sell that toilet install for example.
