Thread regarding Boeing Co. layoffs

How many are still laid off from Boeing?

I am a retired Boeing machinist. Kind of out of touch with the company. Have most laid off union members been called back by now?

I got laid off but I’m not coming back. Got a better job, better incentives, can bring my dog to work or work remotely from home.

Very few engineers who got laid off were called back in Washington state.

It was obvious age discrimination. They wanted to lay off all their old are higher paid employees in Washington state and replace them with college graduates who were the lowest paid and places like Charleston and the majority were replaced by engineers in Moscow.

The 787 line Has had nothing but problems after they moved to Charleston. And Moscow design center was forced to be closed. Just more evidence of the terrible management at Boeing.

But to answer your question most of the older workers were forced to take a voluntary layoff. Boeing rarely calls them back long term.
