UP needs to incorporate the BNSF attendance policy

The BNSF attendance policy provides more predictability for train crews. Incorporating it at UP would give TE&Y employees ample time for obligations outside work, including planned vacations, personal leave days and unplanned absences while increasing job security

BNSF just went to UP's policy. Here is your sign.

"predictability" as in 'you can predict your phone is going to ring every ten hours'?

Which attendance policy? I think recently BNSF tried to implement a policy more like UP’s. I am unsure if BNSF tried that system wide or in regions. I believe under their old system it was they wanted employees available about 75% of the time and the new system was about 90%. The BNSF guys I talk to say the old system wasnt too bad and they are shocked about UP’s tactics. Also I have heard 1st hand BNSF did not do dirty tricks to circumvent federal rest. (dead heads or leaving crews in hotels intentionally for 24+hrs)
