Thread regarding Saudi Aramco layoffs

Professionalism is hard to find these days

I have been here for a very long time and I loved working here, but there is less and less professionalism. It's as if professionalism is no longer important to anyone here? It is sometimes shocking which roles are given to the greatest mediocrities.

It was replaced by "one upsmanship" with the new millenium

Professionalism is a noun that existed long in the past at Aramco, and never to be heard again.

It has been like this forever. See what seasoned expats have to say about plagiarism and other matters.

Once you know most of your colleagues will be from Nile riverside, now you know you are in trouble, they will cover themselves and will push you out, regardless anything, it's a mafia, they will jeopardise projects even if they can set a trap for you.

It’s more like blatant discrimination and rudeness from what I see. if you’re not even being given the courtesy of your manager listening to you for more than 30 seconds, without them reaching for his phone and diicking around on WhatsApp, you know there’s a problem!!
It’s with them not you!

It has always been an unprofessional environment. The difference between the past and the present is that people today are too tired to worry about being caught discussing the situation.
