Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Agreement pukes and stewards

Maybe you should have bought UP stock and funded your retirement and savings first instead of blowing your money on the latest 4 x 4 Truck to show off in the parking lot. Right now you can put $26,000 a year away in a 401k… you can go to college for free…. If you’ve been here 15 years and your living paycheck to paycheck then you need to take a look at yourself instead of blaming the company for your failures. If your being honest with yourself, the only thing Jim Vena wanted from employees was to stay engaged and safely complete their work duties. But she wanted to be paid to warm a chair in the break room or sleep on the conductor side of the locomotive.

Did you further your education? Did you learn another skill here at the railroad? Or did you just take your time getting your paperwork sitting on your a-s in the crew room. Did you take shortcuts? When you focused on complaining and getting an early quit?

If so don’t be mad at the people who actually put the effort in to go to college or work their way up the ranks. It’s just sour grapes on your part. Cream rises to the top. The rest is just mediocre agreement employees. Most of the agreement employees don’t have any other options and that’s why they stay here. They want a free ride but it’s coming to a stop as soon as they start filtering the formal incarcerated people to take jobs that you don’t really want to do.

The locomotives are getting SMARTER…are you?

Correction OP. Cream doesn’t rise to the top at UP. The turds rise to the top of the punch bowl at UP.

All managers need to stop posting on here and get back to driving crews. No more off days. Also vacations are cancelled.

Wow! Reminds me of the mindset of a racist. Take a few bad examples of a certain targeted group. Then blame & insult a large group of people you yourself lumped into that category. Quick question, how is an employee who cant even attend normal family functions, doctors appt’s, etc bcuz they are FORCED to work so many hours everyday supposed to make time to take even online college courses? Are you suggesting that UP employees should not rest but instead study to “improve themselves” and then return to work almost immediately once they are legally rested and as you said in another part of your rant “remain engaged”? Your duplicitous contradictory thoughts and hubris are an example of exactly what is wrong with UP.

This is very similar to the posting on the other board from a supposed 20 year manager.

OP, as a nonagreement employee you need to stop writing these long posts nobody reads and volunteer your services as a Rail Relief member and drive some crews around.

The vast majority of the useful id--ts that UP would complain no matter what the circumstances are and we cry big tears to the media if they were walked out today

The stock price being high is not a shell game as someone suggested. UP made almost an almost 2 Billion dollar profit in the first quarter. The company makes a lot of money and the investors love it. These are facts, not speculation. The company doesn’t treat its employees well at all, but this doesn’t stop it from being very profitable.

How can the labor leaders educate anyone when they are uneducated id--ts? Just asking…..

Someone is mad the stock is going down due to the shell game. Wall Street might start raising eye brows when the labor leaders start educating shareholders.

Ok, diploma mill guy I guarantee if employees are treated any worse than we are now people will be leaving in droves. Mix that in with the quality of new applicants and that’s where things get real interesting. I pity the fool!
