Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

HAEA (FTX) Returning Third Quarter 2022

Union Pacific has hired an outside consulting firm due to the abysmal safety performance results of the employees in the field in 2020/2021. The first recommendation that has been made by this outside firm is for management to take control of the safety programs back from the agreement employees. The consulting firm says it’s apparent that the company has tried cascading down the responsibility to agreement employees with no success. COMMIT has not improved anything thus increased testing (and more manager presence) and video surveillance of employees coming onto property. (HAEA) Holding Agreement Employees Accountable Will be pushed out for review at the beginning of July 2022 and is schedule to go into effect October 2022

They need to enforce the safety rules. I was off work for 16 months because one of my brothers out here was being careless. Of course he was disciplined and now back at work wreaking havoc in the yard

I will tell you that either the employee injury rate goes down this year or everyone’s gonna have he-l to pay. They’re spending all this money to have a third-party come in somethings got to change. Get ready for retaliation.

Injury rate goes up for all the rr that do the budget cutting PSR plans. CN , CSX, NS I told them this on conference call and manager says nothing to prove me wrong. Psr made it a stressful job, forced to do much more with less employees. The workplace morale is so very low. No loyalty any more.

I was off FMLA for a terminally sick family member. The came after me because I was off 4 months. Management kept reviewing cameras and video. Thought they caught me on the phone but I prevailed against their discipline.

A great deal of the new locomotives have modems on them were the managers can watch you work inside and outside the cab in real time. They will also have access to the remote control data to document any unsafe behaviors. They want to improve safety and efficiency. Soon they will be able to determine the exact amount of time it takes you to get your paperwork and to get started without observing you at the location.

There's probably not enough field management around to conduct such testing.

UPRR previously hired two outside consulting firms in addition to VENA Inc. (ha). One to do a functional job analysis and one to consolidate and recategorize management jobs. They paid the McKenzie group millions of dollars to justify slashing headcount and compensation.

Wall Street responded very well to all of these announcements. UP did not publicize where they changed many of the higher lev job categories back. They even turned superintendents into general managers and many directors into superintendents.

Would you ask who were they going to place the employees with the answer is simple “ reformed” “ExCons. Fritz talked about this on a town hall as well

Union Pacific town halls are recorded. If you get past all of the service unit General manager propaganda you will see that Fritz uses the term “abysmal”to describe safety culture and results at Union Pacific. He’s not factoring in the correlation between layoffs, PSR, work faster and do more with less and legitimate personal injuries. He he says on the Townhall that they have hired a third-party consulting firm to come in and revamp UP’s approach to safety. And he states their first recommendation is for management to take back responsibility to safety from the agreement professionals. They’re not going to recommend that UP shortens, the trains or cleans up the right of way, or slows down the work. They will be assisting with recommendation on how to better manage you! ( ie HAEA).

Remember when UP hired an outside consulting firm and renamed all the management positions lol? That totally saved the company! Money well spent.

Nobody cares anymore because this place is a swamp. So managers take over and start firing people who will replace the fired workers? PSR is the problem.
