Don't think for a second that they did this out of the goodness of their heart. Railroad tier 2 is calculated at your best 60 months of service. The railroads were looking at a $4-5,000 back pay which would be 1 month that was a RRT max. They saved themselves pension costs down the road by not letting the bills add up.

Its an ADVANCE of anticipated raises, which means future pay could be REDUCED by the advance amount. Nat’l agreements will be uniform.
