Don’t make the mistake I made. Anytime you are verbally abused or bullied by who you report to, make sure you do at least the following:
Keep a log: Write down each occurrence right after it occurs. Time, date, where, what was said, etc. Details!
Record an occurrence if you can. Legal or not, it’s necessary.
At some point you need to report the behavior to HR. Anonymously if you have to. I don’t really believe there won’t be retribution if the person reported knows it was you. That’s BS. This prevents HR from claiming they can’t address a problem they don’t know about.
If you are being se-----y harassed, report it at once! Unacceptable at any level!!
I’m not a lawyer. Just my opinion. I put up with a high ranking bosses abuse for too many years. If I had done the above, I could have stopped it far sooner.
