Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

The problem is not the railroad but UP

UP is finding it increasingly difficult to attract decent workers. It's karma.
I think that the management is just consoling itself that railroad jobs are no longer as attractive as before. But no, if UP had a better company, which it doesn't, it could have hired better people. This is the real reason, not that the railroad is generally no longer attractive.

It's always been the UP. What Fritz and Vena did to the UP during the PSR blitz surpassed the point of no return. The UP will NEVER be the same, EVER! The image of folks being furloughed by the thousands is going to hang over the UP for many many years to come. I read an article in the Railway Age magazine that was just published two days ago from a current(probably fired now)employee clearly stating just how bad it is at the UP. That was some damn fine reading, and 100% true! That can't look good for the UP. I also just saw that the executives from four major railroads have to go in front of the STB and starts answering questions regarding all of the problems centered around.......wait for it.........PSR!!!!

That’s why they have to resort to hiring felons. The propaganda machine will tell you all is well, and there are no problems.
