Data org is total chaos and unethical practices. Don has been in way over his head from the start. Continues to hire and reward incompetence, he brought in such winners like anju, joey, aaron. But directors always report everything is perfect and don't deliver anything. And now back under CM?! ha ha ha get out now

We should acknowledge that Don V is a competent liar that does not take accountability and somehow gets funded more. He demands others be accountable but as this 'coded' article covering him (https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/shes-great-anna-jo-aj-xu-miller/?trk=public_post-content_share-article). One thing that rings true is his wormy feedback where he attributes something bad, doesn't back up with facts, and can't explain the position in any way that is not vague.
Former DSA leader who knows nothing about data science and analytics, explaining how to work in data science and analytics.
"It helps that I understand the math...Dealing with huge amounts of data, if I'm dealing with a billion records.... I'm not doing anything more than talking about means, medians, modes, maybe I do a little regression here or there... I'm the only person on my team with a PhD." PhD... in SOCIAL WORK. Max sham.
After that happened, they were pretty much forced into hiring an Asian woman into that role or the optics would be terrible.
How long is Monsanto's return policy good for? We have buyers remorse.
Severance package? Don't you mean settlement package?
But how is AJ doing? Still living off of that juicy "severance package"? She played them so hard, DV was eating out of her hand until she cried wolf.
Is it OK to knowingly pitch biz areas data science products that don't achieve what they promise like huge cost savings/$ generating or return on investment, efficiency etc. ?Some think they can pull one over on biz who don't understand data science and not everyone is checking those (fudged) numbers (ps not all of us in biz are oblivious to tech). data dept claims making any model a success even if not much value & very little validation after its produced then biz has to deal w fallout since data group is measured on how much they productionalize and biz measured on the actual numbers/savings.

What is happening that is unethical?
I agree that it going to CM is silly. Most of data is a horizontal IT-enablement service. CM should hire a bunch of data scientists if he wants product-driven insights. I'm sure Don will be happy to build millions of data lakes for them, but for god's sake put the platform services back where it belongs (CIO).
