So citi managers instead of complaining about candidates hopping jobs every 12 months, how about we just do a better job of giving them a reason to stay…
Toxic management permeates the ladder. If you don’t like your world, change your world. Think outside the financial sector. Submitting résumé’s can be quite liberating.
In my group, our Manager has very little say in ratings and raise percentage.
They submit their ratings, but they get shot down higher up by people who do not personally know us or our work.
It would be nice to have a system where my manager actually had a vote.
To me its rather concerning. Either management is really that clueless or they know and just don’t care. Either way its a bad indication as to what kind of leaders we have.

There’s one poster who hit the nail on the head. Basically management keeps preaching about how you can be replaced at the drop of a hat, just be glad you have a job….for now…etc… Then when people leave its a big mystery as to why. One reason as to why people leave is because they truly believe that with Citi its just a matter of time before you are laid off so why no leave on your terms instead of theirs.
