Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

What’s up with those mandatory transformation meetings

Three hours looong. Isn’t it time to be done transforming?

Instead of spending hours on these (mandatory) useless calls, management should figure out how to get the company out of trouble. Analysts’ call not gonna be pretty… but watch management to blame earnings adjustment all on Russia impact even though the issue is wider.

But did you bring your whole self and your best self to work? Whatever that means.

I don't mind all the "woke" culture business, SO LONG AS IT IS ACCOMPANIED BY SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS DECISIONS/POLICY. Otherwise, it comes off as a smokescreen/gaslighting...

We have a colleague whose health is failing due to work-related stress and general overwork. I wonder if they asked him/her for their "Teradata story"?

And it's not just that individual. Most of the people in my department all have hypertension, insomnia problems and are overworked because TD wants everything done yesterday, but wants to do it with less than a skeleton crew.

We cannot afford to build enough parking for the employees when the campus is fully staffed, and cannot hire enough people to do the job-- but we DO have the funds to build:
(in the last 3 years)

A new executive patio.
A new executive briefing center.
A new exec/CEO suite.
A new HR office/wing.
Ginormous bonuses for the execs who are running this company INTO THE GROUND.

The bu-t kissing is the worst. Clueless and delusional 'leaders' spouting obvious nonsense is to be expected but colleagues publicly cheering it on in the the hope they will spared the next layoff is just sad. Why would you humiliate and degrade yourself like that when you can just grab one of the many better paid jobs out there? I don't understand it.

Love how it’s run after work in EMEA. 3 hours of fluff in the evening. Yay.

Everyone involved in making Together Live happen should be fired. You are the problem with this company if you think a forced 3 hour meeting watching staged and pre taped fluff stories touting teamwork will actually changed anything. Change happens by truth telling, leading by example and actually working together to lift people up not throwing each other under the bus and turning around and telling them publicly how much they inspire you. Ugh this is painful. The chat section is just people bu-t kissing.

Tip: Move to a new organisation. That is the best way to manage transformation at TD

FQ just arrived with us at Snowflake, joining WC and others.. not the first, not the last.

There is Brain-drain of unprecedented proportions in at TD…. It started 2 years ago and it’s well underway.

Hate the word transformation, but two of my colleagues were recognized. Happy to see this.
