Thread regarding Baker Hughes layoffs

Does anyone expect any improvement at BH?

Anyone expecting the situation here to change for the better?

Been there for a year and 3 people have left our team in a month. Now the team management is scrambling freaking out cause so many devs are leaving CAUSE they can. They are underpaid and the projects are a cluster. Question is when is BH going to open their eyes on how much of a mess things are rn?

Im not sure about this. Having worked for another company now for over a year to compare, I’ve realized a few things.

  1. Morale- The company I’m at now apparently had a similar issue relating to low morale, and poor service quality. They cleaned house and removed the leadership including the front line managers. When culture gets this toxic, I think it may be the only fix.
  1. Systems - way better training modules, remote access to them, and seamless operation from PC to mobile. Nothing seems so clusterfux as it did at BKR. Unless things have changed in the past year.
  1. At least here, everyone knows what they’re supposed to do. Disciplinary Action is real, and there are guidelines that are clear and concise. I was a leader at BKR, and nope things weren’t so clear. Service - the sales, Technology, and operations teams all seemed to not work in unison.

It’s a shame because Baker is a great company with good people. During my time there, I learned a lot. I have a lot of respect for those managers that stood up for the employees and were true mentors. Not just groomed 🐱 to be the next leaders.
