Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

Its better to just keep your mouth shut

I made a big mistake when I decided to consult with the manager to try to set priorities, since the deadline was terribly short and it was unrealistic to finish all the work in such a short time. Ever since then, I feel like a target for a future layoff, all because I had the best intention of getting the job done well. Those who had the same problem as me, and who did not even try to solve it but just ignored it and did the bare minimum, are actually more appreciated here. So much for the respect this company shows to those who want to do their job conscientiously.

"Citrix is a virtualization company..."

No, Citrix is a "whatever the latest trend is" company. It's been a Cloud first company, a Security company, a Workspace company, whatever the ELT decide is the flavour of the month for product marketing.

Citrix tried to be a "Workspace" company, that includes more then just VDI.
So it was not a VDI only company.
Problem is the tunnel vissioned management that thinks VDI is the solution to everything, all other technologies used in "Workspace" being a possible threat to VDI business being deliberately frustrated.

Citrix is a virtualization company so if you are not a fan of that tech then you're probably not working in the right place to start with.

I myself never found Citrix management to be much different than other medium to large tech companies, especially one that is offshored as much as Citrix currently is. You're not going to have a very cohesive company culture in that setup so it really depends on what group you're in. It isn't a one size fits all culture.

This has been happening for a long time. Managers that retaliated, abuse the yearly evaluation and promotion cycle to Indoctrinate and manipulate employees. Only if you are a yes man towards virtualization then you are a "valued employee".
All alarms are ignored in surveys or HR conversations.

This is so sad that Citrix managers retaliate against employees! This has been going on for a long time! Go somewhere else where your inputs are appreciated.
