Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

I totally lost my motivation

I was one of those who always did her job and at least half of someone else’s. I've always despised those who are lazy because they do no harm to the company, but to their colleagues who end up doing their work instead. And then one day it happened that the manager, instead of criticizing the lazy person who didn't do their job, criticizes me because I didn't do quickly enough what wasn't part of my job to begin with. Since then, I have no motivation to work. I guess a lot of those who have been hard workers for a long time at some point decided it wasn’t worth working more than the bare minimum?

I lost my motivation last year when new hires are coming in at 13.80-15 per hour. I have been there over 4 years and I am not even at 13. I asked twice so far for an increase and have been ignored. And the fact that I must train the new hires making more than me is very upsetting.

It's called "quiet quitting"....go in, do the minimum then go home. I am no longer taking over additional burdens and you shouldn't either. This job has kept me angry long enough. I am two week in and no one has said a word. Look for another job that doesn't care if you die on your feet at Blowes. Good luck!

Corporate here. I'm sick of you peasants always complaining. Do you know how hard it is to run a cubicle?? I have to read and answer all these emails, it's very tiring! I have to pour my own coffee and I dont even have my own private bathroom yet! I really resent how you associates have the nerve to complain when its US, the corporate people who make it all happen! Granted all I had to do was put on my dress shirt and tie and zoom from my bed throughout covid..its really hard guys! Please stop it! Marvin says we need to be a team and support each other okaaaaay?! Now if you excuse me I'm late for another shareholders meeting..think we're going to cut some more hours..its business mmkay? Have a Lowes Great Day!

My motivation took a huge hit when they gave me a $5,700 pay cut and then made me "red vest mentor" to train others. They also expect more from you now than ever. Being that i make less money than i did three years ago.....you can imagine that "motivation" is not always easy to come by. Some think the elimination of promised allowances was a good move, but i wonder how many of those folks would be giddy over a large pay cut?

I gave up last year. When they combined two full time jobs into one and said you can do it. Should have consolidated the tasks before you made this change. Took about six months of that sh-t. No raises for a while because I was capped out. Then puny raises that couldn't even keep up with cost of living. All this while corporate and other jobs still paying out the $$$. No thanks! Much less work and more money at current job. Perfect? No. But, much better than Blowe's!!! And the bad thing is I really liked my job before all this happened. Didn't even mind the shity pay we all were getting.

Attention Lowes employees! It is time to leave this m-o-t-h-e-r-f-u-
c-k-e-r. It is time to start living your life with hope and happiness. Please evacuate now and head for the exit doors. You have no idea how joyful life can be without having to step in this dreadful building ever again. So stop it today. You are not quitting..you are awakening to the fact that lowes does not deserve you. They want so much yet give so little. Are you angry yet? All the precious time and energy you've wasted? Dont even punch out. Take off that pathetic vest, drop it on the floor and walk the f out.

I’m always expected to call specialist customers about their quotes, even though I’m a $14 hour csa. Both department specialists make $22 an hour and sit at the desk. They don’t down stock, and they pencil whip follow up. I’m sure lowes is aware of the disparity in pay and will get rid of specialist at some point. I do my job description and that’s it.

I lost all motivation when I got my raise of 25 cents. Why bother putting forth the effort if this company isn't putting forth the effort to fairly compensate you? You can't give cost of living increases which would amount to $100-200 a week per FT employee? It's going to cost you thousands per week per employee in lost productivity since they are no longer going the extra mile to sell and fix up the store. Everyone is doing the bare minimum now.
