Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Lousy managers

I tried to justify the fact that I had not received feedback from my manager for two months... maybe he's busy and doesn't have time, I thought. But isn't it his job to give employees feedback ... How many managers are left at Macy's who do their job really well and who are dedicated to employees?

Your manager must hold you in high regard. Enjoy the moment. Either you are doing
just fine or your manager has much worse problem cases to address.

Then take the lead and ask for a meeting. Ask for written feedback or actionable items. Bring your written info as well: what you've done, accomplishments, are you meeting the goals. Busy managers are in every sector, not just retail stores.

Do you open new accounts or bronze rewards? If your answer is no you need to. You need to clean out fitting rooms faster and recover the floor faster. Don't forget to be friendly and helpful to every customer even if their rude to you.

Many of these managers especially if they are newer, are lousy at communicating with their employees and hide back in the office . They spend less time on the floor except getting ready for a store visit. There are plenty of them that don't deserve being a manager or got lucky to get that position in the first place. Two months is definitely a long time not to hear any feedback from a manager. That is pathetic but this is Macy's after all.
