A few things going wrong I could take, but everything going downhill over the years is a bit too much. I'm not even talking about layoffs. I'm talking about poor increases, poor bonuses, no work/life balance, and unrealistic goals. Add to that the change in management where it is obvious that the new crop got to their positions through nepotism and cronyism, and I'm surprised more people are not running for the exit.

You mentioned "unrealistic goals" - that's the way to get rid of people without paying severance.
Don't accept an unrealistic goal, ask your manager to explain how they came up with XYZ.
