You can work harder than anybody else, be available 24/7, help your coworkers and manager with their tasks, and still be dismissed like you never existed. Sadly, it's never been about merit but about your standing. If you are related to somebody important and if you have kissed an important behind, then you're going to see your career progress at a rapid pace. If that's not something you're willing to do, you're screwed. That's our sad reality.

Place I work for does not function in this manner. Can not speak for McKesson or other mergers victims but legacy Medic/Misys and A4 behaved in that fashion. Thank you for your 24/7 dedication. Makes your managers look awesome and hides the other groups inadequacies.
