Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

The job market is on fire!

I found a new job that pays $3 more per hour within a week of looking. Guys, this is it! if you really hate Macy's (I do) and if you are miserable here (I am) then now's the time to do something about it. I start on Monday and I have no plans to give any kind of notice. That's what this place deserves.

Two weeks notice is a professional courtesy. Macy’s is anything but professional. Quit and leave!

Was just let go because my 30 plus years of leadership has gone so low they can’t keep me any longer. My freight elevator has been out for almost a year. My dock plate was a daily safety hazard. One of my balers has been down for 6 months. Fitting room is the priority over new receipts. 0-6 rods daily to unload 1000 plus cartons. Oh pallets for fulfillment took priority over pallets to unload a truck. Pulling hours from receiving(6-15) on a daily basis to pack for fulfillment . How do you not get frustrated? A store manager that never walks the dock unless company is coming.

@1kvn I have a neighbor who manages one of the most successful Taco Bell's in So Cal. She really loves her job and her employees and makes $80,000 a year. Amazing.

Taco Bell. Run for the border! At least you make more than Macy’s Inc. and still hate the job!

Fantastic! Way to take control of your future instead of whining and complaining like so many do on this site. I did the same thing and ended up at Target. Where did you end up?

Excellent!
I always found it interesting that companies can “release” you without a 2 week notice! (I’ve witnessed same day!) But it’s considered professional courtesy that you as the minion should give 2 weeks??? Reeeally? I once worked for a store that Macy’s gobbled up for 15 years, where I won awards and accolade, when they did “cuts” LOL, I didn’t even so much as get a good luck don’t let the door hit your ar$e on the way out. I remember walking out to my car with a box of my personal belongings and just turning around and looking back for but a moment at the building , my retail life memories there fast forwarding as I opened the trunk to put my stuff in. Felt a lil’ burned. Just say’n.
