Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Another article on UP homepage complaining about FMLA.

Is there any company in America as obsessed with the family medical leave act as Union Pacific?

It’s a fear and intimidation thing. They just can’t help but to try and control every aspect of ones life! If your using it legit don’t let them get on your head.

With the amount of legislators raising an eyebrow to the class ones regarding PSR, FMLA is the last thing the UP should be worried about right now.

The railroad only issues so many sticks for legal beatings. Its the responsibility of labor to beat them with their own sticks whenever necessary or possible. Always been this way and should legitimately continue unabated until deemed unnecessary.

We need to fight so we can sign off whenever and however much as we want i.e. No attendance policy. UP doesn't want to give us set days off. They loophole around federal rest days. They won't agree to at least give call windows so we can at least have a set sleep schedule. The only thing we have is the HOS. Lets be fair, if they won't give us guaranteed time off. We shouldn't guarantee them we'll be available for work if we don't feel like it.

C’mon guys we’ve been over this. You all have to work at least 1/2 of everyday, rest just enough, then come back to do it again. Remember days off, holidays, spending time w/ family, dating, going out, movies, additional rest when sick… Thats for the executives and the shareholders. You are working so THEY can live the good life. That life is not for you, its for them. While we are on the subject quit complaining to your unions, it confuses them and we have to give them more stuff so it looks like you guys agree to this. Ge-z we’ll even throw in more free hot dogs just for you guys too!

I feel like people at work are being discouraged from using it and I don’t think that is right. Company is making everyone out to be a suspect to their peers who exercises their fmla rights. I remember when mentioning someone’s fmla usage would get you fired for harassment now it’s ok since PSR.
