Thread regarding Sears layoffs

For those who worked at Kmart

I know most of the people who still come here never actually worked at either Sears or Kmart, but for those who did, here is a nice reminder of what Kmart used to mean to many of us. Read the replies as well as the original. It made me remember and it made me cry.

Telling people to grow up yet defending crying about this useless company. Awful place to work, so glad they are closing. Good riddance.

truth is Kmart/Kresge's was a good company for both employees and customers. That era ended in the mid to late 70's. Many people here did not experience that, and cannot relate.

It surely went to cr-p in the early 80's. Many of those kinds of retailers did, so Kmart does not have a monopoly on failure. But they certainly have the spotlight as the last one standing.

This alone is why KMart is still in peoples consciousness and discussed in the year 2022.
Those of you wiping down grocery carts at Walmart will never have that privilege

Honest truth about how terrible working there was: https://www.inc.com/suzanne-lucas/management-lessons-from-kmarts-fall.html

Honestly sc--w everything about that horrid company. So glad they are getting exactly what they deserve, right about now. Kmart can literally rot in h3ll.

There is very little hate here. It is standard Social Media stuff. People think they feel better about themselves by posting rhetoric that gets others going. Too bad they don't notice that it doesn't make them feel better because they are right back at it. Look at the people who fumes about not having links on a rumor board. The people who constantly call for moderators to do their dirty work. The people who complain about people talking about a dying company on a board that talks about dying companies. They then say "move on in your life" while they themselves are on this board, not moving on.

The same goes for most posts on other media boards about any other of the numerous topics in the world. Its all a cover for low self image.

So much hate here. How hard is it to understand that Kmart was good to some people? That your experience is not everybody's experience? Yes, for those who spent most of their lives working there at a time when it was a good place to work, this is an emotional moment. The fact that you got so bent out of shape because somebody has positive experiences related to Kmart is sad and even a bit pathetic. Grow up.

Made you cry? What a fluff piece. There are people dying in Ukraine. That should make you cry.
