Thread regarding Nordstrom layoffs

Are you helping new hires?

I feel sorry for the new hires because they seem lost. Some of them have the will to work, but they do not have enough instructions on how and what to do. I always try to help them, although I find it difficult to find time for it since I am overwhelmed myself. I'm sad to see that some coworkers, frustrated by the overall situation in the company, deliberately will not help them when they can, simply because "it is not their job to help them".

Nordstrom got rid of 100 of good employees who spend many years giving good customer service to Nordstrom's customers. But their hard work wasnt enough to keep their job. Nordstrom laid them off without any apreciation money for all these dedicated years. Instead they now start hiring people who work 2 months and leave. The crash start from here.

What exactly are we striving to? It’s “Door Dash” or “Do web orders”for our Gen! Digital ki---d the retail environment. We are basically zombies unless we own a tech company..

I try to help and train as best as i can. I work along with them. They shadow my team. Some just quit within 2 weeks because of the workload and pay is not competitive. Others do whatever they want, pretending working, complaining. I’m not defending the company. It provides tools and guides that’s accessible. For the most part is the quality of the new hires is not adequate.

Sink or swim is their philosophy, unless a higher up needs your help then they'll take all the credit.
