The post about the Panama Canal Zone not existing since 1979 is quite funny. Isn't that around the time that Sears and Kmart "Stopped Existing" also???
Good, good. IF they're closing hundreds per year and there's only that many left, I can stop hearing about it soon. I've never seen any place take this long to go out of business. Just go.
Despite this, jobs.sears.com still lists positions at the Anchorage AK, Camp Hill PA, Fort Collins CO, Overland Park KS, and Pharr TX stores. (None for Lafayette LA or Honolulu HI right now.)
Good catch regarding the seven Home & Life and Appliance & Mattress stores. Does this mean Transformco has sold them to franchisees?
I am amused that the https://www.searshometownstores.com/store-list page includes "Canal Zone" (with no stores located there). The Panama Canal Zone hasn't existed since 1979.
According to the hometown website they now list the appliance & mattress and home & life stores as part of the hometown stores. Must be trying to make the number higher than it actually is.
How accurate is the SearsHometown.com website, though?
The only "offshore" stores listed there are seven in Puerto Rico.
Counted them from their website. They have a list of stores for each state and offshore locations
