imo the former ceo is a primary reason that VMware is where it is today. Still relying on perpetual licensing and shrinking on prem market even to this day in a modern software and cloud world. There is a reason so many of previous exec leadership team moved on the last 2 years as they saw what was ahead.
Broadcom will be a good place for some and not a place for others. But make no mistake, VMware ended up exactly where they earned their place in large part due to executive decisions made 3 to 5 years ago. Shareholders definitely win though
Best of luck to all
What a laugh. Intel isn't going to buy VMware. They would have said something by now. While the Broadcom deal isn't good for VMware employees due to the focus on cost cutting, Intel wouldn't be much better as it is a chip company and has huge issues with being behind in innovation. Pat doesn't care about VMware anyway.
I disagree that Intel is a good fit but I do agree that AVGO is not a good fit at all.
Also, it does seem that AVGO has been posting throughout these threads since before the official announcement.
I hate to see what really is the truth about AVGO.
Broadcom culture is nice
Naw duh... Pairing a company that places emphasis on people versus one that places it all on money and a cut throat and unfriendly environment? What else could go wrong?
The CEO of Intel understands how to manage to a cult. He was a terrible CEO at vmware, allowing many problems to fester. He's shaping up to be the same at Intel. Intel buying vmware would be a disaster.
Broadcom software group is controlling most threads on the layoffs.com. Any negative comments about the unholy acquisition are being trolled
What are chances of a counter offer from intel goog amzn msft etc.. based on earlier comments here very low. Anything changed?
Yeah, if Intel acquires VMware there will be a HUGE sigh of relief within VMW especially since the CEO is former VMW and understands the company well.
I totally agree with this article -
Intel + VMW is the most natural fit
