The store that said all was closing actually requested to closed and put it on the corporation to avoid backlash from customers in the area, they posted that on a non official page and as soon as it was seen they deleted it they didn’t know they would be causght

This listing doesn’t appear to be accurate anymore.

@2bul+1gYEX1vL thanks for the info. To stir the pot more…why?

Is it an intentional offer they cannot accept? Does it have anything to do with the possible upcoming results of the Sears Holdings/Transformco mediation? Is it in preparation for a possible bankruptcy? How many stores will ultimately accept these terms?

It is interesting times.

The owners were told to sign a 5-7 year extentsion or they can get out of their current agreement now.

Would anyone in their right mine sign on a commitment with this company?
Have you been inside a dealer store and tried to buy an appliance? Months out on delivery. If they sell the floor model they have nothing to display and can’t get for months.

Why would anyone waste the time putting this list together? What a waste of perfectly good CPU time. Use it for something like Wordl.

At least 2 owners have posted on Facebook that they aren't in control of the closings.

If these stores are independently owned, why are so many closing at once?

Sears.com store locator doesn't list any Hometown stores anymore. They took them all off some time last year.

This list sorely lacks accuracy.

Ok, you used their website as a source. And? Have you seen how incorrect the Kmart website is, lately? Hey, you do you, man, but I wouldn’t rely on some obsolete information on their website to base a list on. There might be open stores NOT on that page, and there might be closed stores STILL on that page. Believing that website is like me believing my kid when I asked if she ate that candy she wasn’t supposed to eat, or something like that. Take the answer with a huge grain of salt.

Source is searshometownstores.com store list. Mostly updated to reflect individual stores that have posted on Facebook. If you know of stores that are closed but still listed there, please post them.

Depends on what source you used. There are differences in numbers between the Sears.com website and searshometownstores.com website. Some of the closed stores are still listed in both places.

OK, looks like 4. Store locator lists 5: Camp Hill, Kittanning, St Mary's, Pleasantville, and Erie. The first 4 have activity today on Facebook. Google lists the Erie as permanently closed.
