This Friday is the last day for a fellow engineer in my department. He is the 4th engineer in less than a year to leave the company after transferring to California from Findlay. He told me that he had to stay with the company 1 year after transferring so he wouldn't have to pay back all the moving expenses and cash he got for the transfer. He also told me that within 4 months of moving here, he was getting calls from recruiters. I think the lack of talent at MPC has more to do with the Findlay location than anything else. I have only been with the company for 2 years but have noticed that the Findlay transplants are either clowns or they have talent and leave the company soon after getting here. I think it is time to get on a job board or networking site, can't be a good sign that the good ones tend to leave.

It’s both. Good people don’t join bc they know they have to work at Findlay eventually to move up.
Anybody with half a brain leaves Findlay or Marathon if possible bc of pay, culture, and people
