If you continue stressing like this from now until the deal is finalized - which will not happen for months - you'll be popping Xanax like candy by that time. Things will change, that's for sure, but there's nothing you can do about it. Your mental health will be much better served if you concentrate on other things that you can change in that period, like updating your resume and seeing what options are available, just in case.

I just don’t see many people putting in 100% until they know what’s what. No matter what Raghu says. Q2 and Q3 will be a rude awakening for the execs when they see the numbers.
I've been through more than one of these M&As. I don't fret too much. I evaluate the situation and take action. That means slowing down my work, looking at my skills and spending time replying to recruiters.
Oh, so large business decisions should wait on the fragility of the employees and some arbitrary month designated as "mental health awareness month?"
Nah.
End of the day, we are in an industry where constant learning is the only way to survive, I don't understand why people keep complaining about these "sudden" changes. Change is the only thing that is constant and stop crying please.
Ironically May is mental health awareness month which VMWare "proudly honors", and here we are .. their decisions are causing a deeply stressful situation for their employees
💯 agreed
