Thread regarding VMware layoffs

Get real!!

Whether it’s Broadcom or someone else cuts are inevitable. No company has two HR, two finance, two IT departments etc. The question here is what other support areas would be impacted. Look around. If Broadcom have it then they probably won’t want the VMware one.

Coming from CA, support was cut at about 60%, this is because they will increase the prices and drive the small customers away. Most of the 60% cut was given transition pay 50% more of your base pay for staying paid out at the end of your agreement which was + 3, 6, 9 or 12 months time. The severance was legal minimum + additional 15%.
At the end of transition they did decide to keep an additional 100 support employees and most accepted and they still received their transition pay.
