What happens when Broadcom has a product and the company it’s acquiring has a product. Does the company it acquire lose out?

I work in Broadcom on a product that is +-the same as another product in Broadcom that they got from a different acquisition. They kept both of them, because they are sticky. They don't try to switch customers to the other product because if that happened, they would evaluate other products too and Broadcom is afraid of losing revenue. If the money keeps coming, you're safe and there is no problem.

We’ll see what happens between SEP Cloud + Symantec EDR against Carbon Black Cloud (which is way better than Symantec’s EPP/EDR offering)

I wouldn't worry about it because as long as customers have contracts they will have to support them. Eventually they will merge and keep people from both products.
Appneta was purchased by Broadcom as a much smaller company and they merged them in with our NetOps department.
