This is about the worst thing to happen to us at VMware. Wonderful Company. Wonderful culture. I've been in this business for 20 years. I've been at many tech firms that were just totally brutal and cut throat. VMware was not that and was such a unique company that really put a lot of emphasis on treating its employees with dignity and respect. I would have gladly stayed there for many more years. And then this happened. All of the comments here allude to the new company being totally brutal and happy to rip whatever company they get ahold of to shreds, destroy its brand, fire its people and get rid of its culture.

They do so without realizing that VMware was what it was for what? Its people. You treat people well and guess what? They do great work for you. And they deliver a great product. You take that away and you are left with what happens at most tech firms: a constant revolving door of employees who have zero allegiances to their company and will jump at the first better offer they get somewhere else. And with that comes less and less real innovation and less overall experience.

I see the writing on the wall and am sending out resumes. To the rest of my fellow VMware folks the best of luck to you all and maybe someday we can all work for another company that has a heart.
