We all know there were layoffs at Keller Mortgage but nobody seems willing to divulge how many employees were affected. What's with all the secrecy? Not knowing is only going to make us think the number is much higher than it probably is, so I don't get what's the point.

I know many underwriters, pipeline managers, closers, a processing assistant manager, some supervisors, some team leads, a trainer, and people on the operations end of things were laid off. There has been many loan officers quitting off and on as well. The processing department had approximately 150 employees and now they are down to about 30-35 give or take. They definitely eliminated approximately 75% of their entire staff overall. Why the secrecy? Well, think about it - there are clients who have submitted loan applications in hope they are going to get approved and close on time. But the current amount of processors pipeline went from about 5 loans to nearly 30 in one day plus KW has implemented new procedures for processors to enforce causing their work load to be triple now. So, whose to blame for loans not closing in time? Not necessarily the processors. It's goes beyond that and that is the true mystery, who is behind this mass layoff and why was it done in a disorganized way? The last layoff was done with some compassion and professionalism, this one was cold. Also, KW retained some of the most untalented employees but got rid of some of the best! Now, why in the world would a high ranking company do that? Do they really want to go down this way and look terrible to their customers and investors? On top of that, they are going to receive bad ratings, in fact they already have. It's just going to get worse. If they want to retain employees that can compete against others they need to take a good look at their culture, be more employee focused, hire employees who want the job and have good work ethics, and be transparent. They are too wishy-washy, spare of the moment types, unorganized, lack good communication, and red flagged for nepotism. If you want to hire your friends or family that's cool but make sure they can do the job and leave the friendship/relative part out of it, otherwise don't hire your friends and family. Make sense?
