Is it when the deal is officially closed, which is 6 months away?

Just because you don't jump ship on day one does not make you a bad one. Those who have knee jerk reactions are either 1. don't have tech experience. 2. don't have enough experience to see how these things play out. Will I stay, maybe,. It is not a judgement on my skill or value. As I get pinged every week, some folks fine me valuable, yet have not put in my resume.
This is my take:
it cannot happen before the deal closes because they don't own the company yet. After the deal closes sometime in end November/Dec time period
My thoughts are between now and the deal closing they already have the data they need to figure out who/what to cut so they may execute that in January 2023.
Two types of employees:
Good ones: Will immediately find another job and not wait.
mediocre: Will wait and give Broadcom control over themselves.
You will know a day after closure. Wait until then, do not leave before
You won’t know anything until the deal legally closes which will be in 6 months to 1 year from the close date. At this point, you are two separate companies and they can’t fire you before they are the rightful owners
within 6 months. I doubt they will let it slide that long. I think within 2 months, they will start their aggressiveness. That is the period every engineer should be looking for a new job.
In other words, you should start looking YESTERDAY!
