Michael Dell wins again - Genius

Seriously this is a brilliant outcome for Mikey D and Broadcom, and the 5 years with Dell has made Vmware a better and more profitable company.

Doubt there will be many layoffs

If you transition, you will be surprised to see how things can still work after a year and all the cuts. In the second year you will be surprised why it works better. After, you understand why the world is full of pseudo-successfull companies that do not make profit.

When Dell bought us it was the first nail in the coffin. As soon as that happened, it was how much money Dell would walk away with. It will take a lot more then lay offs to recoup. I am betting on they sell of the pieces they don’t want, consume the rest. How else do u justify the overpay? It was fun why it lasted.

MD bought VMware once, sold it 4-5 times (tracking stock, forced to overpay for a money loser Pivotal, spin out, gobble up). The guy is a genius.

The cuts by Broadcom will be massive, tons and tons of fat and areas that don’t make money at vmware. Their model is run market dominating cash cows, and use cash to buy profitable growth.

I don't think you know what Broadcom is like.... But for the VMware employees I wish you are right.
