Managers here no longer even try to hide that they treat some employees more favorably then others. This is an obvious signal that hard and honest work doesn't pay off here. I don't know what is the best way to fight it. Have you ever reported it? I also wonder if favoritism in the workplace is illegal?

From experience, reporting any biases to HR will not be to the benefit of you. If you do report it, prepare for retaliation and in very sneaky and below radar ways.
Here's some free advice. Get certified on forklift and move on to better employee friendly high pay jobs. They will nickel and dime you here. Only the suckers stay. Yep that's me but I've mastered the "less work/more happy" approach. Also develop a mindset of that you are TAKING THEIR MONEY not earning it.

Perhaps google the words favoritism /workplace & illegal. Let me know what federal, state and local laws, as well as case law you come up with. You can't be serious with that question.
